The Roentgen-Anatomical Study on the Angles between Long Axis of Alveolar Socket and Standard Planes in the Korean

Abstract
|
|
|
The author observed the angles which are formed between the long axis of alveolar socket and Frankfort horizontal plane in maxilla and mandibular basal plane in mandible. The subjects were made each 25 cases in the male and female aged 18 to 25 years with relatively normal occlusion and acceptable profile.
Frankfurt horizontal line and mandibular basal line were drawn on the tracings of all cephalograms and all angles were measured and analyzed by Kamizo´s method.
The following conclusions were drawn;
1. In the postero-anterior cephalogram, the angles between long axis of maxillary alveolar socket and Frankfort horizontal plane were as follows:
Central incisor portion: 92.8° 93.4° Lateral incisor portion: 89.9°, 90.7° Canine portion: 94.5° 95.2°
2. In the postero-anterior cephalogram, the angles between long axis of mandibular alveolar socket and mandibular basal plane were as follows:
Central incisor portion: 102.6° 103.9°
Lateral incisor portion: 95.8° 96.1°
Canine portion: 97.0° 97.4°
3. In the lateral cephalogram, the angles between long axis of maxillary alveolar socket and Frankfort horizontal plane were as follows:
First premolar portion: 94.0, 93.8° Second premolar portion: 88.6° 89.0° First molar mesial root portion: 86.1 86.8distal root portion: 94. 1 94.0°
Second molar mesial root portion: 87.8 88.7°
if x distal root portion: 92.4° 91.8°
4. In the lateral cephalogram, the angles between long axis of mandibular socket and mandibular basal plane were as follows:
First premolar portion: 93.9° 94.7°
Second premolar portion: 93.6° 94.6°
First molar mesial root portion: 97.0° 98.1° distal root portion: 106.9° 106.0°
Second molar mesial root portion: 109.1° 107.8° an distal root portion: 110.8° 109.4°
